Ingredients
1 cup rice
½ cup chana dal (split chickpeas)
¼ cup toor dal (split pigeon peas)
¼ cup urad dal (split black gram)
½ cup grated bottle gourd
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp sesame seeds
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp oil
Salt to taste
Water as needed
Method
Soak the rice and dals together for 4-5 hours. Grind them into a coarse batter.
Add grated bottle gourd, ginger-garlic paste, spices, and salt. Mix well.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, and sesame seeds.
Pour the batter into the pan, cover, and let it cook on low heat for 20-25 minutes.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Let it cool slightly before cutting into pieces.
